Loved that one ....

... now moving along ... one of the best and most beautiful songs ever (however, it's more about death than life, Romeo and Juliet and damn suicide.

Also the most banned song by the US Pentecostal church, my god they hate this, I don't know why, I love it ... it's allegorical for fucks sake)

I'm sure many of us here love AMV's, (Anime Music Videos) either favorites or ones made by ourselves, so I would love you to share.

I'm very passionate about anime and AMV's are a great way to express ourselves, it is truly an art form.

I really appreciate the regular music vids and it would be lovely if we could include AMV's in this thread and support the makers.

I have made a bunch of AMV's under my You Tube name of NightAl AMV, but I also follow other makers, and many are incredible.

I'll start by sharing a few I love, as well as couple of my own:

Challenge, the first person who links an AMV to this forum topic within 24 hours, I will personally make an AMV and dedicate it to you!

Literally the only good AMV and it's still cringe.

I'd say it's more bizarre than interesting!

Ok, I'm a man of my word and will be commence making the AMV shortly, it will take about a week ...

... however, for me, making an AMV is 25% inspiration and 75% creativity and I'm certainly not inspired by a person who freely admits they find AMV's cringe-worthy! (A blatant insult to all AMV editors)

So, rather than dedicating my new AMV to that particular individual, I will be dedicating it to the entire Konachan community.

In meantime watch this Touhou production, and still have the audacity to call it cringe-worthy!!!

Erm... I know that this is your personal mission and all and you're obviously free to do whatever, but... I think following through on the "will dedicate it to the first poster" claim is part of being a "man of your word" too, even if that person is who it is. >.>
bruh das how I feel

Get it Again (Instrumental)

oml I am NOT ready for homecoming like ughhh...like why do I even plan to go?
I was self conscious about posting it because I couldn't remember if I had or not because my short term memory is getting really bad but I figured even if I had posted it was so long ago that it didn't matter.

I never went to any football stuff at school. Oh...wait...I did once. I fucking hated it because I was playing third wheel to some fucking backstabbers and I didn't get the actually watch the game.

Wow, I thought we were compadres. :O

I was just trying to popularize AMV's on Konachan, but it is a failed experiment. I now realize Konachan is not about anime art in general, it's an image site only, and a damn fine one at that, one of the best on the planet! I Love it!

Please forgive me for trying to bring AMV's to our collective conscience.

As for keeping my word, I can not bring myself to dedicate an AMV to anyone who would ridicule this art form, Cade's post was nothing but a cheap attempt to compromise my promise, if he doesn't like AMV's then why post? He was trying to force my position with a double bluff, fat chance, try harder next time buddy!

I was sincerely hoping that someone who shares my love of anime and AMV's would respond and have a video dedicated to them, but it was sabotaged by arguably the most cynical, arrogant, non-talented, negative member of this community.

So forget about it, if I have broken my word about a dedication, then I can easily break my word about an AMV dedicated to all Konachan members. Enough is enough!

That World isn't Interesting at all

Now let's just return to the status quo of ordinary, mass produced, corporate, big dollar, modern pop videos and disregard the independent, mostly Japanese AMV makers who, like the artists featured on Konachan charge nothing.
I don't have a problem with AMVs (and I doubt Konachan in general has one either, though I'm unsure about that) and I'm by no means friendly towards Cade or even indifferent/ambivalent; actually I have a rather low disposition towards him.

I just think it makes sense that if you say "the first person to respond" that you understand and take into consideration the full potential of that statement. It's not wrong to hope for a specific kind of response, but it is naive to not acknowledge the possibility that your hopes will be let down and prepare for that.

Of course, you also could've said that initially with the unannounced intention to refuse to dedicate it to certain people (like him) if they were the first to respond. That would be deceptive, but I don't think deception is inherently wrong/bad. I wouldn't have said anything if you didn't also call yourself "a man of your word". But when you state that, advertising personal integrity, and then (in my opinion) contradict it in the same forum post >.>... I don't know, I guess I just thought it was worth commenting on.

I still welcome you to share more AMVs though, whether of your own creation or not. I'm not a hardcore fan of them myself, but I definitely disagree with Cade's categorical dismissiveness of an entire art form. I'm open-minded about them and will consider them individually like I do with any piece of art. And if you absolutely can't/won't create one using him as inspiration, then that just is what it is. By complaining I wasn't implying that I wouldn't appreciate or value your work on an AMV, I still would, and it would be cool to have an AMV dedicated to Konachan too. To me the music side of the "issue" and the social side are separate things.

As for being your "compadre"... To be honest I don't know you well enough to agree. I'm not your enemy though. From what I've seen, you are nice and fairly silly (which always scores points in my book), although you have a tendency to overreact. But even if I were to officially be your compadre, I would still be willing to disagree with you and/or criticize you. I don't see that as something that friends don't do with each other or that is otherwise innately hostile. ^.^

I thank you from the bottom of my heart minabiStrikesAgain for your sincere an honest comments, that is the reason I call you compadre. Yes it's been hard to renege on my word to dedicate an AMV to Cade and has caused for me a moral dilemma, but due to your wonderful words of encouragement I have decided to proceed with a new AMV and dedicate it to the Konochan community.

It's been a rough ride for me being here, heck, just understanding the rules was hard, howver I'm learning and I truly love Konachan, it has provided me with a huge amount of inspiration over the last ten years during a difficult time in my life, (growing old is not easy, we loose people and loved parents more often and I'm now 65) the fabulous images on Konachan have helped pull me through. For this I am grateful.

I found salvation in anime, making AMV's and following Konachan, these things gave me purpose and a reason to live.

Indeed, I have made several slide shows based on the art uploaded to Knonachan, long before I joined the forum:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYMufziaeBk
I don't get many views but this hasn't stopped me. I never gave up believing.

I agree with you that I have a tendency to over react, much to my regret, but it is due to my passion ... or maybe I'm turning into a cranky old man LOL ... but I mean no disrespect.

Me to, I'm addicted to his music, he is so damn unique, no one has ever made music like his, totally original.

You might also enjoy this emmy, another one featuring Hirosawa:

I feel like he's not as popular simply because his stuff does sound so weird. A lot of people don't take to stuff that sounds like that.

I agree, I think many people don't get where he is coming from, but the man is a genius!

The brilliant anime director Satoshi Kon, maker of such amazing films as Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers recognized Hirosawas brilliance and used his music in all his anime. (sadly Satoshi Kon died in 2010 from Pancreatic Cancer and from that moment an amazing partnership ended, and unfortunately very few anime directors have used Hirosawas work ... tragic).

However Hirosawa has a cult following in Japan and has forged a very successful career, and he is just as good playing live as he is in the studio, attracting huge audiences.

Imagine being at this concert, he uses theremin's which are musical instruments played by conducting light, this is fascinating. He also clearly shows his vocal abilities, cutting edge stuff!!

Then we move on to Byakkoya one of his most moving songs using more traditional instruments

And finally his live performance of Solar Ray (which I used in my above mentioned AMV)

If that was sincere then that is a good thing, now you may know how we feel! It's called empathy.

Moving on and hopefully moving towards closure to our animosity, this song defines me ... and Colin Hay represents our spirit, I'm as tough as nails, but also have feelings ... don't underestimate, I love Konachan and I'm here to stay!... because I come from a Land Down Under

You may choose to continue to be a cynical thorn in our sides Cade, or become a great friend and maintain some level of positivism, the choice is yours! ... .. but I wont back down
I just discovered that those catchy French pop songs from the 60s had a genre name, Yé-yé. I've always liked the sound of them.

So here's Laisse tomber les filles by France Gall.
Megalovania

I didn't know the name of this song or what it was from as I'd only heard it used out of context on a different, non Undertale related video. I'm sure glad I finally figured out what it was, because it's super good.
On my recent visit to Japan I had the incredible privilege to be invited to two concerts by the J-Pop Idol band 'Perfume' ... these girls are incredible. For an old rock and roller like me who also loves electronic music It was one of the happiest moments in my life, a revelation!!!
