You know, I can't help but notice that the shanghai and shanghai_doll tags are pretty much similar, but it shows different thing when you search it.

And apparently, the same goes for the doll and dolls tags.

What do you guys think about this?

P.S. My english is awful.
I think they all can be put into doll. No need for that many tags when the images are that similar.

No nays here! Are we still using the nyotaimori tag btw? Only 3 posts exist with that tag.
Didn't know we had that tag. anytime I want such images I search food nude.

I have no objection to Alice's dolls being tagged shanghai_doll. Since they sometimes appear without her.
Do we need a phantasy_star_online_2 tag or just batch everything up under phantasy_star_online?
Just batch everything under phantasy_star_online unless there are new characters that are only present in the second game.

Since Shanghai is a city in China, shouldn't it be tagged as shanghai_doll instead? We wouldn't want people getting confused on whether it's the city or the doll.
bellybutton tag
So..I've been tagging a few pictures with the bellybutton tag and this one person in particular keeps removing them.
why can't we have a bellybutton tag? I like bellybuttons and its a part of the human body. so if we tag boobies, vagina, hair, eyes and others then why not bellybutton?
can we keep the bellybutton tag. please?
Belly button seems a bit too common. It would be like having a tag for hair or face.
It cannot be anymore common than any other part of the body, and besides there's nothing to loose if you add a belly button tag. So can we please please keep the belly button tag? ^.^

As for those first two tags, "breasts" and "vagina" fall into potentially blacklisted tags, and are absolutely necessary. Hair and eyes are done only in association with their color, and never independently. All four are extremely concrete tags that have been around for ages.

A bellybutton tag, while I can see where personal taste comes into it, would be prolific—an absolute tagging nightmare. Assuming even 20% of the pictures here possess a visible belly button, that would be over 20,000 pics that need to have that tag added. That's an awfully hefty load, considering how much we mods get paid (nada).

Unlike some of the other boorus, Konachan's tagging system is based on a "less is more" idea. The common pic on this site will typically have no more than ten or so well-maintained pink tags. Adding new pink tags is done only with particularly good reason.

If you are really wanting to search solely by a bellybutton tag, then allow me to direct you to danbooru.

This is called tag spam. People have banned for tag spam before. Please don't create new general tags, it wreaks havoc on our methods of organization. If you want a pink tag made, take it here, liked you've just done. If the mods and Admin are in agreement, the tag can be implemented.
Now that I've thought about it, a bellybutton type tag might not be a bad idea. I for one find them sexy, so I can see other people wanting to look for them. It's also a tag that can help out the tagme images. The problem lies in the fact that who is going to go back and tag all the images, its easy enough to tag new images, but tagging the old ones will take time and effort.

So I'm for it, but someone as to put the work in.
I think I can be of some help here.
I like belly buttons as well. So, I'm up for it.
I can help you tag old images with the belly button tag. You can message me if you guys agree to add the tag, which I think you should. :D
If you can find someone to do it, use navel.
This is the danbooru tag and easier to type.

How so? I thought tagme was only for copyright and characters and maybe artists. If not then I've been removing it a lot for the wrong reason...
tagme is removed once copyright, etc is known.
Though it's definition is broad, and can mean "add general tags" too.
The generals tags are there to make non-copyright/character/artist searches possible and the rest go easier.
Well any nay sayers for a navel tag?
I like navels. Go for it!
Seems alright to me, I'll keep my eye out for it when tagging. Just give us the go ahead.
Well I guess since no one as stood up against the tag, so you guys can add it.

Some good tags to start with are nude swimsuit underwear and tagme Happy Tagging!
Roger that, I'll start adding where I see it.

EDIT: Got a few dozen done, I'll do more tomorrow.
I was so bored I went and added the navel tag to all of the proper pics in my favorites :P I think I'm starting to like them too...
OK, so what does it mean when a tag is "ambiguous"? Cuz I was checking my own faves, and I added "white_hair" as a specification, and it said it was ambiguous, and it wouldn't give me results.
Some user changed it to ambiguous on purpose or on accident, but I reverted it back to it's original state.
Ambiguous also means having more than one possible meaning. Like orange for example, an orange can either be a fruit or a color.
From http://konachan.com/post/show/145566#c107852 :
loli is a VERY touchy tag on the site due to local laws where the server is physically located and our desire to not remove artistically valuable images. Most of us are mature and sensible enough to differentiate reality from fiction. Or so I hope and assume at any rate.

All images that qualify for the tag can be tagged with it and SHOULD be tagged with it. While we strive for Safe to be okay to everyone, that's not always the case due to vandalism/rating abuse or just different opinions. Rating:e loli, however, shouldn't even exist on the site. Unfortunately, THIS is where the usage of loli gets weird do to laws vs artistic value conflicts.

I try do try to do a loli rating:e screening of the site once a quarter (give or take). This is to clear out the offending images (they get completely purged from the site) and catch any misratings with the tag.

The only real problem has been defining loli in a coherent black and white method for consistent usage. There's a giant gray zone with what we consider is or isn't loli. That's our main problem. I've spoken to Shuugo about this issue a couple times, but he has the same conflict of interests as I do about it. This is why it's still up in the air without a truly concrete definition and usage pattern.

Still, if an image obviously screams "LOLI!" when you look at it without a doubt in your mind, tag it, regardless of rating. The only time you really need to concern yourselves about using the tag is when it involves an explict post. At that point, a staffer needs to get involved to give it a definitive rating/tagging and/or purge it from the site. If in utter doubt in those situations, contact an admin. Contacting an admin is actually preferable since Shuugo wants to know when an explicit loli image is purged from the site.
Finally, some clarification there. I've been wondering about it since I read the FAQ on the tag itself. That should be updated, shouldn't it? Perhaps this whole post from Stahn should be pasted here?

Well, the admins know what they are doing. But this tidbit of useful information shouldn't be left only to this thread, where it will be promptly forgotten after a few pages. Though that's just my humble opinion about it.

Thank you StahnAileron,
I'm not going to edit a wiki, but this quote should be added to the loli wiki in some form or another. This forum post really adds a chunk of clarity to the issue regarding loli.
You can't edit the loli wiki anyway. I keep it locked from edits.
Adding the quote would clutter that could confuse those not fluent in English. I try to keep it easily translated and hard to misunderstand.
I have linked it though.

Remember, any character age 12 or under is defined as loli, except when danbooru's adult tag would apply - aka, the artist drew them older.

lol.. Thanks for updating it and clarifying that its 12 or under. I didn't know that was the approximate age range to describe a loli. Related to the loli wiki
It can apply to characters over 12, it's just required under it as 13 is the age set for consent by Japanese and Spanish national law. Some age clarity was required for Kona, and they seemed the most applicable.
Before anyone gets ideas, they may try to use your home country's laws.
