I don't even keep up with current stuff, but three or four of the last anime I've looked in to from the Fall 2019 season were all isekai. And that seems like a lot to me.
I guess people liked Re:Zero so much that everyone else jumped on that bandwagon. That's how it seems to me, anyways. Boy is transported to other world and is surrounded by cute chicas. I'm not saying the anime are bad (I haven't seen them), but I feel like there's only so many ways to spin the basic premise.
