I'm guessing that they're space shuttle door gunners.
Well whatever their function is they are wearing distinctly different sailor outfits indicating two countries serving together imho.

But more on point, I'm guessing they're either posing for a pre-mission photo shoot or on guard duty at the base, or perhaps returning from a practice session at the firing range. As for their mission if they have one aboard the shuttle, perhaps it's to take over the ISS?
Too late! All the space shuttles were decommissioned and these girls will never get past the security at the Baikonur Cosmodrome. Anyway, the ISS would probably have a very adverse reaction to bullets - although it would be cool to see a video of a recoiling person shooting a gun in zero gravity!minabiStrikesAgain said:

I'm guessing they would take it over using melee weapons to minimize collateral damage, and then use guns to repel any other boarding parties without consideration for the unfortunate effects that might have on their ships (or even for firing at the ships before they can dock).
The knives the two girls are carrying seem a bit small to be primary weapons though.
