Don't need to unsheathe a cosmetic blade (it's for show, not use), this appears to be some type of royal procession.
If that sword uses the same material for the swords in our world, whoever's swinging it would need herculean strength. I wouldn't even want to know the effort they put into making that sword.
The sword appears to be about twice as long as she's tall. Considering the size and weight of my own katana, I'd guesstimate it would weigh some 40kg, which is well within the realm of possibility to swing.
The main problem is that it would have a terrific amount of inertia, so while you could swing it, there is no way in hell you could stop it or exert any sort of control over it once set in motion. Also, the moment you hit something with this sword, it would either bend or break beyond usability.

I think this is the most likely reason.
Mongol Horsemen would charge enemy formations on armored horses with such huge swords like this facing out to either side locked into the saddles. It was very intimidating......and effective at disrupting the formation.

That is Japanese Odachi, Mongols don't use big swords like this. The Odachi was used by high rank samurai, he would hire a servant to carry the Odachi for him when he rode his horse to the battlefield, he unsheathed the Odachi while he was on the horseback before he rushed to the enemy.
