Sure did, but with something of much lower caliber.

Truly the most deadly of weapons.
Thats one sure fire way to lose a finger.
The right thumb from having the slide blow back? It would be broken at the very least.
Nope. She has a high grip and the weapon has a beaver tail grip safety (it's a single-action 1911), where her right hand is. Her right thumb is resting on the safety as is required. The web of her right hand will sit, and wrap-around, just below the slide, directly under the hammer cup, and around the GS. It just looks like it will hit her thumb from the angle the artist used (lower). This is how you shoot a 1911 pistol (trust me)... Here is a picture of the Para Black Ops Combat model that I just added to my collection. I'll be using this one for my shooting school. You'll notice the extended slide safety near the rear of the slide, and the beaver tail grip safety that protects her right hand from the slide cycle, and hammer bite. The slide safety is what her right thumb is resting on. Actually, her draw and Isocialize stance is almost dead on. If she was one of my students, the pad of her trigger finger would be farther to the left and I'd have her clip her trigger finger nail...
