So his left foot has already been in the water long enough to have a splash, but his right foot appears to have just come into the water, and his sword was just dragged out of the water. Also, if he was just walking through the water it wouldn't be splashing that way. Ach inconsistencies.
Tommy you forgot the most important part! The suspension of disbelief!
It's bad enough that they don't have shields, but are they really just strolling into the opposing forces wearing nothing but leather jackets? xD

Might as well wonder why his sword has blood already.
Not to mention there is no rank or order. They're walking, not marching. Even the ones holding a shield is holding it forward rather than up to deflect the arrows. I thought they might be giants but judging from the corpse nearby that isn't the case.
