I understand perfectly the reasons behind it.
Maintaining a site like this is sometimes very rewarding soul-wise but tiring on the monetary side. To be honest I've gone through the idea of closing the site a few times too. On the bright side, I've had also good users that helped me a lot and that made me want to keep the site running as free and as open as possible.
I've been thinking on a way to reduce server bills greatly, as I'll be jobless as well this winter, and I think I've pretty much sorted the issue, at least for now.

I feel a little guilty knowing I may be counted among the leecher user base of Moe Imouto and Konachan. I will try to do my part by clicking thru' on ads wherever I see them on my fav sites from now on. I really appreciate what the site owners are doing for the community.
D: Now I have to rehome all the source vectors, and the couple that never got to wp.

This would explain the death of the RSS feed for Moe...
This sucks...I technically shouldn't say anything, however...I've supported and favored Kona over all other 'booru sites combined, so I'm technically a leech from Moe as well. (Though I never hang out at other sites like I do on Kona either.)
Still, Moe was my preferred alt to Kona (partly because it uses the same tag filenaming scheme as Kona for downloading images. Sorting images from Dan or San after the fact blows since they use generic computer-generated ID strings.) And the fact Moe specialized in Hi-res images (I was mostly there for the uber-res vectors, not so much the scans).
Well, if I get a steady job after I move, maybe I'll consider helping out Moe as well, though I don't have as much as an attachment there compared to Kona...*sigh* Assuming the admin there is willing to re-start the site...

Well if it's SFW and it's quality is good ... E-Shuushuu sound OK. You don't need moderator approval or anything. Vectors are accepted. Only one thing... do not watermark. You can sign yourself on it, and put xxxxx.deviantart.com (xxxxx = user) .... thus it's like the artist site. But simply http://www.deviantart.com won't work .... your animepaper or minitokyo account as well (just don't watermark it with the site, but with your account ... thou it's not supported). And Shuu is strict with tags. You can ask me to fill you in with the tags before uploading it there. Yes! They haunt you if you don't tag them with everything you can!SciFi said:

I had to un-sign the source vectors to keep them on imouto. Most have a hidden signature in the style now.
I noticed you on E-Shuushuu. I also noticed it needs at least one female and SFW. Which excludes Morino plus 2 with nudity.

zerochan has no comments and is an unfamiliar system.

Yah I forgot to mention the 1female rule... and yah I'm there as well ... funny how I'm kind of at the same level on both sites. And the most funny thing about it is that I reached that level without knowing it XD I like Shuu 'cause it's pretty fun sometimes. But I prefer Kona for it is more towards my style.SciFi said:

Ugh, terrible news to hear, since Moe was where I always headed to get scans. :C It's still good news that it'll be up for a few more months after the donation goal is reached.
Sad to know that such a great and active site like it will be dead after that, though...

Just an update. Dovac seems to have worked things out and a reduced version (sans ecchi) of Moe is up again. Well the url's different, but at least all's right with the world

I am regretting maintaining moe.imouto.org for so long, I realized that I’ve spent over 30,000 dollars so far and all I have to show is a leecher user base who feels entitled to have the best and greatest scans for free. There is the few users that regularly keep me from going in to RAGE mode and from killing the site over and over, anyways.
