Hey I been contacted today and been told we can't use the doki doki theme even tho it went really well, we are really finding it hard to find assets to fill the void, does anyone know a artist that is willing to let others user there work?

Under the about section of the app infomation about the theme would be there crediting the artist like we was going to with ddlc.

We wanted cute anime charactors that just made you smile when using the app, none of us that worked on the desktop app are artists of any kinda and we feel the app needs something to help it, so if you could point us to a artist or if you are one and you have a stock of images we could try make work PLEASE get in contact

We also have a discord but I will have to read the rule again about posted links like that.

I mean if it's for the konachan app client, you'd probably be fine using Ms. Kona herself, but don't quote me on that. I'd run it by slayerduck first, since he holds the rights to her I'm assuming.

The old one was Kona herself I think and a few other girls from her univise but I could use the same grily pinks and offests and try use Kona her self if I can find some good images what I can use for it :)

I don't know who owns her copyright but I sure it be some big company that don't care about a little image app using her.

Kona was an OC commissioned by shuugo right? So it sould just be slayerduck that owns her.

Who is slayerduck, tho I don't think the project had a problem in the past using konachan, but since I took over I had to change some things origal source was like the site a gray/black like colour, the design for the version that never happened by a 3ed party was based on coffee colours, A because I am a woman and B it's still cuter then black changed it to pink.

I know the software was going to include other boorus but I not at that kind coding and I don't have the time to include and test all that, I just here to keep the Konachan version going.

Or does anyone have his/her email just to double check there OK us using her as our app mascot, I don't think I will be a problem but when I was handed the project one of the rules was make sure I have permission for all sources used.

Hmm, don't know if Alaron is still active on this site or not, but you could try contacting him at [email protected]. He's probably your best bet for getting in contact with Slayerduck.

I asked about it on the Mod thread on Discord but I haven't gotten any replies yet.

Let us know if anything comes of it in the next few days, I can't go emailing another booru site for a user that usered to be staff here,I don't feel right doing that.

Slayerduck owns several boorus. Alaron just manages the community side for most of them, but I'm assuming he's realized by now that we're fairly self contained.

She was used in the older app and it was posted here and no one complained so I "believe" it should be OK, but if we get not reply in a few days I guess it wont hurt contacting Alaron to see if we can get hild of Slayerduck to see where we stand

I'm more inclined to say that "No, you can't use it" simply due to the way Intellectual Property and Copyright works.

I'll double check with Slayerduck but I don't expect the answer to change.

EDIT: Yes, still active, though more of a "works in the background" type active. :P

I'll need some more detail on what you'll use the mascot's image for. If you're going to make it the main icon of the app then the answer is no. If you're going to include it as one of many boorus accessible through the client and you want to represent konachan with an icon using the character's likeness than we can allow it, but that's a rather specific use case.

But we can't give you universal rights to use the likeness of the character for the overall theme of the application.

When I took over the project I redesigned it based on DDLC as its more pink and cute, fittered my idea of anime better found below.

This software uses Konachan only as it's source no other booru is supported and mostly wont ever support others, the original coder created this tool for konachan only and his code base is based around this API only where many others use XML rather then json.

I want to some how use the Konachan images to fit my more pink/girly design the icon of the app right now has not been designed or thought about, I am more bothered about the UI.

I ended up removing all mascots at the moment it's sad but I couldn't just wait around I will have a new UI ready in a few week.
