Some seem to see ‘jpeg artifacts’ everywhere or just seem to be looking for a reason to delete images.

Says me, after 16 years of membership (Yes, 16 Years).

A mod checked them before they delete it. They don't delete just bc it's flagged. Check your images before uploading.

Assuming you are talking about post #385356, there are jpeg artifacts in this image and it is a valid reason for deletion. Jpeg artifacts are usually more noticeable in red areas. The Image Quality Evaluation guide has a detailed explanation about them.

Of course we all respect you as an OG, gnarf, but you do tend to upload rather crunchy images.
